Metal thrives on drama, so naturally, we started with a castle in flames.
The original concept placed a fortress above a burning wasteland, staged like a theatrical scene inspired by the band’s lyrics. It worked. It was epic.
The final artwork ended up being a portal leading somewhere undefined, built around Zaphira’s band colors and slashed with a bold red contrast. We ended up leaning more towards the overall atmoshere, rather than depicting something too literal.
As the final touch, the headline was redrawn to have a crumbling effect to tie it into the whole artwork.

I was approached by the CEO of LEDVANCE’s Swiss branch to come up with a design for the wall. The original plan was to create something digitally and have it printed, but after discussing the possibilities, we decided that a hand-painted mural would give the space a bit more character and an extra edge.
I worked closely with the marketing team, going through quite a few different ideas and iterations along the way (some better than others). Eventually, we landed on a dynamic composition of three lightbulbs against an abstract grey background, using the brand’s colours. The orange bulbs really pop against the grey and create a strong visual presence, even when you’re looking into the office from across the street.
